PPABC offers short-term (STD) and long-term disability (LTD) coverage.
Disability insurance provides an income to an employee who becomes
totally and continuously disabled by an accident or illness. Long-term
disability benefits are payable after a six-month waiting period.
The LTD benefit is approximately two-thirds of your weekly pre-disability
earnings. Short-term disability benefits are payable after a 14
calendar day waiting period following the beginning day of disability,
and benefits continue up to 26 weeks. Short-term disability benefits
also provide coverage for maternity leave for a period of 6 weeks.
The STD benefit is approximately two-thirds of your weekly pre-disability
earnings. While you are receiving STD benefits, you may use some
of your available, accrued paid time off in order to receive your
weekly net pay.
- Flexible Spending Accounts
PPABC offers employees the opportunity to participate in our flexible

set aside pre-tax dollars for medical or dental expenses (for example:

year. The Dependent Care Reimbursement account lets you set aside
pre-tax dollars for dependant care expenses (for example: day care

a reimbursement program for Eligible employees to use their own
pre-tax income for expenses incurred at approved institutions of
learning for continuing education in approved courses.
Medical Waiver & Reimbursement Program
Eligible employees who are already covered under their spouse's or parents' medical plan may wish to retain that coverage and
waive PPABC's medical plan. While employees who waive this coverage will receive a smaller contribution from PPABC toward their
cafeteria plan choices, they will however receive a reimbursement payment in lieu of health coverage. This reimbursement is paid
semi-annually to those staff employed for the previous six months.
Retirement Plan
PPABC offers a retirement plan for eligible employees. As part of this plan, PPABC contributes a discretionary amount to the
retirement plan for eligible employees. After a successful evaluation period has been completed, the employee is 25% vested, and
the percentage of vested dollars increases as the years of employment increase. After 15 months, the employee is 50% vested;
after 27 months, 75% vested; after 39 months, 100% vested. The employee has the option of directing the investment of these
funds to suit their individual investing goals and can choose from over 30 funds.

Your 401 k plan can be tailored to your own retirement plans and needs. Fund choices can be changed as desired and you can choose from over 30 funds. PPABC also contributes additional matching funds of .25% of the employee's (401K) contributions, up to a

Management Track Training
While the positions that run an organization may be the lifeblood of that organization, people are our most important asset. We at PPABC feel we have a wealth
of talent already working in different positions and levels throughout our agency. Identifying and tapping this hidden resource is the key factor in our
management track training. What is management track training? Management track training, for the purposes of PPABC, is defined as the strategic, systematic
and deliberate effort to develop competencies in potential leaders already within the agency through learning experiences and mentoring. Existing staff are
assessed against the clearly defined criteria or competencies for each position and once assessed, candidates are contacted to determine their own interest in
participating in the process. Those identified candidates that are interested move forward to the development phase of the track. Even existing staff not
identified in the track can self-identify themselves at anytime. Such self-identified staff will be assessed and, if determined to be eligible, will move
forward in the track. Through this program we endeavor to help our staff excel and become leaders. This is career development and recognizes the hard work
and dedication of staff. |
