Birth Control
Planned Parenthood of Bucks County offers counseling about sexual decision-making and details about the following methods
of birth control:
- Condoms (male and female) and spermicides
- (EC) Emergency Contraception (sometimes referred to as the "morning after pill"). It can prevent pregnancy if taken within 120 hours - 5 days - after unprotected intercourse or an accident.
- Birth control pills
- Depo Provera, an injection that lasts three months to prevent pregnancy
- Prescriptions for the Patch (Ortho-Evra), a skin patch that lasts one week.
- NuvaRing, a flexible ring inserted in the vagina each month to prevent pregnancy
- IUD (Intrauterine Device)
- Diaphragms
- Abstinence
