Celebrates Film New Hope Celebrates is presenting its first Film Festival, featuring films with LGBT main characters. For the main event of the weekend, the 2007 Oscar winning Short Documentary, Cynthia Wade's "Freeheld", will be shown on Saturday, April 26 at the Bucks County Playhouse at 12 p.m. "Freeheld" is the story of a lesbian couple's plight to receive same-sex benefits in Orange County, New Jersey and documents the journey of Garden State Equality, whose activism resulted in gay civil marraige rights in that state. Day of Silence The National Day of Silence brings attention to anti-LGBT name-calling, bullying and harassment in schools. This year’s event will be held in memory of Lawrence King, a California 8th-grader who was shot and killed February 12 by a classmate because of his sexual orientation and gender expression.
